Ultimate IT Guy, LLC has selected Cooksey Connects as its preferred, affiliate provider of training and education services to its rapidly expanding client base.
“With the confirmation from the Fair Trade Commission that municipalities are subject to the Red Flag Rules as outlined in the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT) Act of 2003, it seemed natural for our firm to connect with an I.T. provider already involved in the compliance effort. The training deadline is rapidly approaching and many municipalities have found themselves behind the curve. That’s where we can help.” says Scott Cooksey, Owner of Cooksey Connects. “We are excited to have been chosen by Ultimate IT Guy as the provider for delivery of training and education services to their customers.”
FACT’s Red Flag Rules require municipalities to have in place policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the new guidelines no later than November 1, 2008. This requirement is to help address important issues related to fraud and identity theft for services provided by Oklahoma municipalities.
“Properly designed and implemented information technology systems can be very effective in the effort to curb fraud and identity theft,” says Cleatus Davis, President of Ultimate IT Guy, LLC. “Proper training of the people who represent our municipal customers, however, is also a powerful front-line deterrent. Our company’s focus is on servicing Oklahoma’s municipalities. We felt the addition of a training affiliate to assist in this effort made perfect sense.”
